THE PASSING OF A FRIEND
With sadness we mourn the loss of a great friend on Monday evening, December 28, 2009. Gerald "Corky" Nerenhausen, was a volunteer leader and positive mentor to hundreds of boys and girls at both the Brigade and Camp Onaway for over 40 years. His warm personality and joyful spirit garnered many friends - young and old. The Brigade extends our deepest sympathy to his family and friends. We'll miss you, Corky.

A Message from the Director:
BRIGADE WREATH SALE A HUGE SUCCESS!!!
Our heartfelt thanks to the community for their support,
the incredible Brigaders for their fantastic sales efforts,
the great assistance from Brigader parents, and our awesome volunteers for donating their time and talents. Thank you everyone and Merry Christmas!
What a wonderful year for Brigade! The holidays cause us to reflect over the past year and it makes me smile to think of all of the kids who are being served by Brigade. One of the new exciting forms of communication is the Brigade Facebook page. I hope you had a chance to connect there. You can do that right on this home page. You will see day-by-day updates of the kids involved with exciting activities, even videos of all the action! You will see everything from the excitement of Camp Onaway to the stimulating fun nightly programs with hundreds of kids at Brigade.
I am very grateful for the way God has blessed Brigade, especially for the blessing of over 500 dedicated volunteers who stepped forward and served these kids throughout the year. This is truly a remarkable community supported organization that has stood steadfast for nearly 110 years.
A very warm thank you also to all who have made a contribution to Brigade. These are difficult financial times for all of us, and it is particularly hard on non-profit organizations like Brigade. Again, I turn in gratitude to God who has moved in ways to hold Brigade in His hands. As always Brigade continues to be blessed abundantly; what a wonderful kind and generous community in which we live that recognizes the value of Brigade and also recognizes the positive impact Brigade has on youth.
Thank you to everyone who came forward to help Brigade experience the successes of this past year. May all of you and your families enjoy the blessing of Christmas and the celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior.
