Boys’ & Girls’ Brigade Character & Leadership Training Program

The Boys’ & Girls’ Brigade has been serving youth since 1900. Brigade builds leaders through a 7-year character development and leadership training program. Brigaders develop their character and leadership skills for 5 years. Then, they have the opportunity to put those skills into practice as they lead a group of their younger peers during their final 2 years. More than 850 youth in grades 6-12 from throughout the Fox Valley participated in the 2005-2006 program.

Youth attend Brigade on grade specific nights; Mondays – 6th grade, Tuesdays – 8th grade, Wednesdays – 9th & 10th grade, Thursdays – 7th grade. Brigaders are placed in groups of 10-15 and experience a number of different physical activities, workshops, guest speakers, small group discussions and more!
